Fan Pack Success Delayed Posts

Hello to everyone who has been following my posts. I have received several fan packs in the past three weeks, but have not had time to take pictures and post my successes as I moved from Ohio to North Carolina. Fan packs are being sent to my last residence while I have new fan packs coming in to where I am currently at. Don't fear though, not that you were. I will eventually be posting all of my successes when things start to settle down. Until then feel free to contact me if there is a particular address needed or you want to know just a list of my successes.

Texas Longhorns

The Longhorns fan pack included a 2008 team photo, 2 sets of football cards and a personalized signed photo from Mack Brown. I sent away for two of these packs and received them within 4 days. It appears as though the signed photo, while looks real is printed on the photo. Identical Autograph on same spot of the photo.
Anyone interested in obtianing the email for this fan pack can contact me. Trying to get my followers up:)

Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox included in my fan pack a letter from the team, a pack of Fenway Dirt, a team schedule, and a 4by 6 photocard of Dice K.
Send an email to: fanfeedback@redsox.mlb.com

Indianapolis Colts

I sent a snail mail request to the Colts on July 31, 2009 and received my Colts fan pack back on August 7, 2009. This fan pack featured a lot of nice items including a 2008 team photo and mini pennant. To acquire this fan pack, here is the info needed taken straight from the Colts website:
Send a self-addressed stamped envelope to:
Indianapolis Colts Fan Pack 7001 W. 56th St. Indianapolis, IN 46254 (Please include a 9x12 size envelope with $1.00 postage)

Colorado Sky Sox

I received this email from the Colorado Sky Sox today:

I am sorry, like most AAA teams we do not have fan packs. If you can send a SASE I would be happy to send you a couple of pocket schedules and a business card. If you would like a magnet schedule and a group brochure please send a 6 x 9 envelope with at least .78 cents postage. The size and amount are due to the weight and size of the magnet schedules. Hope this helps, and thanks for your interest in the Sky Sox.

At least you know what you will be getting and if you collect pocket schedules or magnetic schedules this might be of interest to you.

Atlanta Dream Fan Pack

The Atlanta Dream was the first WNBA team to send me a fan pack. I sent out my request on July 31, 2009, and received the fan pack on August 7, 2009. Inside there was 2 pocket schedules, two tattoos, a sticker and magnetic schedule for the 2009 season.

Omaha Royals Fan Pack

When sending out fan pack requests to minor league baseball teams, the best case scenario is usually a pocket schedule. In this fan pack, the royals sent a pocket schedule and 3 baseball cards of mascots. I sent out my request on July 31, 2009, and received this fan pack on August 7, 2009.

Oakland Athletics Fan Pack

I sent an email to the Oakland Athletics requesting a fan pack and this is the reply that I received:
Thank you for your interest in the Oakland Athletics. Please send a self addressed stamped envelope to: Oakland Athletics Fan Pack 7000 Coliseum Way, Oakland, CA. 94621. Once we receive your self addressed stamped envelope we will be able to send you a fan pack. Thanks and Go A’s!
I sent a regular envelop with 44 cents in postage and received a pocket schedule, a one page history of the team and photo cards of Matt Holliday and Orlando Cabrera. I sent out my snail mail request on July 30, 2009, and received it August 7, 2009.

Atlanta Falcons Fan Pack

I sent an email to the Falcons on July 28, 2009, and received my fan pack on August 7, 2009. The fan pack included a letter, trivia fan page, a key chain, pocket schedule and tattoo. The second fan pack from an NFL team this week.

Frisco Rough Riders

For a minor league team, if you receive more than a pocket schedule, you should find that pack a success, so the Rough Riders fall into this category. However, they got my hopes up sending 3 pocket schedules and 5 tattoos in a huge 10 by 13 envelop. Regardless, it is still a pretty nice fan pack. In addition, very quick response time.

Minnesota Timberwolves

The Timberwolves want to provide their fans with the best, so they did not shy away from forking out $4.95 just to ship out their fan pack. Inside I received a 2008-2009 Yearbook and two tattoos. This is the first and only NBA fan pack I have received so far.

Cleveland Indians Fan Pack

I received my Cleveland Indians fan pack just over a week after I sent out a request. I received a letter from the team including a coloring and trivia page and a photo card of Cabrera. While I hate the Indians, the photo card is a nice addition to my collection and the Indians don't like to hold onto their players, so I'm sure Cabrera will be in a different uniform a couple of years from now.

Kansas City Royals Fan Packs

If I receive photos or photo cards of players in my fan packs, I consider my self lucky. As an autograph collector these are great for getting autographs if you can't afford baseball cards or baseballs. The Royals did not disappoint sending me 6 photos of current players including Zack Greinke. Also included was a history on the Royals, which for die hard fans of the Royals or those just interested in facts of the game was petty neat too.
It took a week to get this fan pack back, so you shouldn't have to wait long.

Rome Braves Fan Pack

For those interested in collecting schedules, then the Rome Braves Fan Pack might be of interest to you. I received 3 schedules from them.

Carolina Hurricanes

The Carolina Hurricanes sent me my first ever NHL fan pack. I personally do not care for hockey, but wanted to cover as many leagues as I could in my research of fan pack requests.

The Hurricanes took only 4 days from the time I sent my email request on July 28, 2009, and when I received it on August 1, 2009. Hurricanes fans will be pleased with receiving a 5 photo card set, 2 tattoos and 2 stickers.

If you are interested in obtaining this fan pack, email the Hurricanes at: communityrelations@carolinahurricanes.com

Buffalo Bills Fan Pack

I have received three fan packs from the Buffalo Bills. Just as the Bills were consistent on getting to the Super Bowl and not winning, they carry that consistency over to their fan packs. All three packs were received 4 days after I sent an email request. One was received on August 1, 2009, and two on August 5, 2009.
The fan pack consisted of a 2008 team photo, two gold Bills stickers, a schedule for the upcoming 2009 season and a schedule key ring tag. This is the only fan pack I have received so far with a team photo, so I like this fan pack on that basis alone. As for the Bills, hopefully they along with the Patriots and Jets will bow down to my team the Miami Dolphins in the AFC EAST once again this year.
You can acquire this fan pack by contacting the Bills via email at: guestservices@bills.nfl.com

July 2009 Fan Pack Success

On July 23, 2009, I decided to start sending out fan pack request to teams in the MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, WNBA and minor league baseball. Over the next few days I managed to send out over 100 fan pack requests, mostly via email, but some snail mail requests with SASE were required.

When I was tweleve I used to send out requests to teams for a team photo via a letter and I received several fan packs in return, which included more than the team photo I requested. Now at 27, I am sending out fan pack requests to more than just my favorite teams and with the goal in mind to research and share my information with those who will listen.
San Francisco Giants

On July 27, 2009 I received back my first fan pack. The fan pack I received was from the San Francisco Giants via an attachment in an email from a request I had sent out on July 25, 2009. The fan pack included a letter from the Giants, a 2009 schedule, a fun page and information on the Giants Kid's Club. I found this fan pack interesting because technology has allowed the fan to request fan packs via email for the most part, saving the fan from buying envelops, stamps and paper to make the request and here the Giants are able to save on that same expense and still provide their fans with a fan pack.

If you are interested in obtaining this fan pack send your request to: fanfeedback@giants.mlb.com

Milwaukee Brewers
On July 29, 2009 I received my first fan pack in the mail. I sent out my request to the Brewers via email on July 23, 2009. In this fan pack request, I made a special request to obtain a Frank Catalanotto photo card (as he is my favorite player), but this request was not met. I did; however, receive two schedules, two stickers, a magnet, photocards of Mat Gamel and Jason Kendall and a pin of #7 J.J. Hardy. I really enjoyed receiving this fan pack.

If you are interested in obtaining a fan pack from the Brewers email them at: fanfeedback@brewers.mlb.com

Chicago White Sox

On July 29, 2009, I also received a fan pack from the Chicago White Sox after emailing them on July 23, 2009. This fan pack was highlighted with a Sox sticker, in addition to two schedules, a letter from the White Sox, and information to join their Kid's Club and ordering merchandise.

If you are interested in acquiring a fan pack from the Chicago White Sox email them at: fanfeedback@whitesox.mlb.com

Baltimore Orioles

On July 31, 2009, I received the best fan pack to date from the Baltimore Orioles. I sent out my request to the Orioles on July 23, 2009, via an email and received an email on July 27, 2009 saying they would be happy to send me a fan pack and that I would be receving it in the mail shortly.
This fan pack included a letter from the Orioles, informational pamphlets, two stickers, two postcards, two schedules and photocards of Matt Weiters, Brian Roberts and their Mascot.
You can contact the Orioles at : fanfeedback@orioles.mlb.com
Altoona Curve
The final fan pack I received in July was from a minor league baseball team the Altoona Curve (Pittsburg Pirates affiliate) on July 31, 2009. I sent out an email request for this fan pack on July 28, 2009. I received two schedules and photocards from James Johnson and Javier Guzman.
The Curve can be contacted at: frontoffice@altoonacurve.com
I have already received fan packs every day in August and will be sharing those details within the next few days. If there is a particular team you are looking to contact to request a fan pack from and need the information, I may be able to help. Leave a comment to this post and I will attmept to help you out.
Anyone else who currently collects fan packs or is going to start may also leave comments to my posts detailing their success. From research I have done so far, not all fan packs contain the same items and will usually contain different photocards of players.

Philosophy: Why Cronos is Associated With Time

In the Spring of 2001, after reading a short two page excerpt of Hesiod's work I wrote a brief paper on Why Cronos is Associated with Time. If you have an interest in Greek Mythology this might interest you. If you are not familiar with Greek Mythology or philosophy maybe this will intrigue you to want to learn more or this could just thoroughly confuse or bore you!
We received the assignment on a Friday and was due on Monday. While at the local bowling alley that night with friends and family I came up with this and wrote it down when I got home. Might not be the most conventional way to write a paper, but my professor seemed to like it saying "This is an outstanding paper - from which I have learned!"
The idea that I propose is that Cronos is associated with time because he creates it. In order to explain how it might be a possibility that Cronos created time, there are a couple of questions that need to be taken into consideration such as: Can the gods such as Gaia, Ouranus and Eros exist before time? If these gods were to exist before time, then where did they exist? How did Cronos create time? Through these questions and Hesiod's text, one should find it plausible that Cronos' association with time is that he created it.
From Hesiod's text, we know that the gods such as Gaia, Ouranus and Eros existed before Cronos' birth; therefore, if Cronos created time, then these gods had to exist before time came to be. Is this possible though? To answer this, one has to first look at what time is.
Time is a period in which change takes place; therefore, it is possible for the gods to exist outside of time, they can even operate in it. The only limitation put on existing outside of time is that change is unable to place.
After consideration of what time is and realizing that the gods could possibly live outside of time, one stumbles onto the next question of where did the gods exist if they existed outside of time. Looking at the opposite of time, one will find eternity. To say that the gods lived in a state of eternity before time was created wouldn't be far off. By looking at Hesiod's text to the passage in which Ouranus prevents Gaia from giving birth to their children, it is easy to see how this could be a state of eternity. In eternity, change does not occur, so by the action that Oranus takes, he is preventing change from occurring.
This now leads us to the final question of how Cronos was able to create time. It was through the plan, which Gaia thought up, that Cronos was able to create time. At the moment Cronos cut off his father's genitals, time came to exist. The separation that occur ed at that moment created a space. It was in that space that time came to be because after the separation, change occur ed when Gaia was finally able to give birth to her children; therefore, ending the eternity that Ouranus had been prolonging.
Through this interpretation, it is conceivable that this could be one possibility to why Cronos has an association with time. Without the courage of Cronos to go ahead with his mother's plan, the gods may have lived outside of time forever, and never have experienced any sort of change. Fortunately for the gods, Cronos created time in the space created by separating his mother and father.

Sports Fan Packs

For the die-hard fan or just the avid collector, Sports Fan Packs have something for everyone. Are you a part of Bleeding Green Nation? Why not send a Fan Pack Request to the Philadelphia Eagles and get rewarded for your loyalty? Who’s your Tiger? Find out when you receive your Detroit Tigers Fan Pack. Sports Fan Packs can be acquired from teams in the NFL, MLB, NBA, WNBA, NHL, NCAA and minor league baseball to name a few.

Trading cards, team photos, photo cards, yearbooks, tattoos, key chains, schedules, pins, stickers, posters and magnets are just a few of the items you could receive. The best part about the Sports Fan Pack is that in most cases, they are FREE! If you have a spare minute and an email account, you are in most cases just a mouse click away from receiving a few collectibles from your favorite team!

Most teams have an email contact listed on their home page that you can send Fan Pack requests to. However, not all teams send their fans complimentary fan packs. Some teams still require a snail mail request via postcard or letter and in some cases may require a self addressed stamped envelope (SASE) be provided.

Teams requiring a snail mail request via postcard or letter are the: Minnesota Twins, New York Mets, New York Yankees, Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos. The Oakland Athletics require a snail mail request in addition to a SASE. The Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans and Dallas Stars require a snail mail request and SASE with at least $1.00 in postage. The Miami Heat, Chicago Bears, Seattle Seahawks, Columbus Clippers, Kinston Indians, Lansing Lugnuts and West Michigan Whitecaps are some of the teams that do not send their fans complimentary Fan Packs.

Time range for receiving your Sports Fan Pack can be anywhere from a week to a couple of months.

This is just the first in a series of blogs I will be posting on Sports Fan Packs. I have sent out over 100 fan pack requests in the past 10 days and will be tracking my success.
